Start here: the Grand Canyon most Las Vegas tours visit is Grand Canyon West, on the Hualapai Reservation, two and a half to three hours away by road and outside the national park. The South Rim, inside the park, is closer to five hours each way. Hoover Dam is under an hour from the Strip and fits into a morning. Antelope Canyon is about four and a half hours each way, so a day tour there is a very long day.

Day trips by drive time

Times are measured by a routing engine from the middle of the Strip, at Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road, with no stops. Arizona and Utah sites run on different clocks from Las Vegas for part of the year; each guide explains when.

How the picks are made

Prices, hours and rules on this site come from whoever sets them: the National Park Service, the Bureau of Reclamation, the Hualapai Tribe's Grand Canyon West, Nevada State Parks and each tour's own listing, with the date they were checked. Tours are ranked by a score that weighs a tour's rating by how many people have reviewed it, so a 5.0 from three reviews doesn't outrank a 4.8 from two thousand. More on that, and on how Vegas Visitor Guide makes money, is on the about page.
